About Gilbert Appliance, Inc.
Gilbert Electric Company was started by the late Robert Woodrow Gilbert in the late 1940's.
In the early days, Mr. Gilbert would work from the trunk of his car performing electrical work for the residents of Perry and Houston County. Mr. Gilbert purchased land on Jernigan Street in Perry, GA and opened his first display front and shop. From there he sold appliances, TV's and other household items.
Through the 50's, 60's and 70's, Mr. Gilbert expanded the office on Jernigan Street to over 5000 square feet of display and shop area. In 1973 his son, Richard (Dicky) Gilbert started work with his father. They worked together until Mr. Gilbert retired in 1990.
In 1993 Richard acquired the business from his father. In 2004 the business was incorporated and the name was changed to Gilbert Appliance, Inc.
Gilbert Appliance, Inc. looks forward to serving the community for many years, with the same personal care that Mr. Woodrow Gilbert started over fifty years ago.
